Dynamite with a lazerbeam [userpic]

I have an 80/20 mortgage. Bank of America is the bank that I have my larger loan through. I received a letter from Bank of America stating my loan was transferred from Bank of America to BAC Home Loans Servicing, LP for servicing.
That's all it states. There's no phone numbers, I received no letter from this other BAC company. I haven't gotten any new coupon books from this company. There's not even a phone number of the better from B of A. I have questions! The letter just itemizes activity that occurred from Sept through Nov.

Is there anybody more familiar than I am with loan transfers? This letter was so vague, it's a bit disconcerting.

*edit* called B of A. They merged with Country Wide but the cust. service rep claimed everything will be the same...although I should have received a new coupon book by now with a different loan number.

This award is funded under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (Public Law 111-5).

This collaborative research project is being undertaken by Dr. Nathaniel J. Dominy, University of California Santa Cruz, and Dr. Salima Ikram, American University of Cairo, Egypt, to analyze isotope ratios of mummified baboons and to compare them with modern baboon populations in an attempt to identify the location of the lost city of Punt.

Punt was a celebrated destination in Ancient Egypt. It was an exporter of valued commodities such as ebony, myrrh, electrum, and exotic pets (leopards and baboons). The historical importance of the Egypt-Punt relationship is twofold. First, it is one of the earliest examples of peaceful trade between neighboring political states. Second, it is one of the longest commercial alliances in human history, spanning more than 1200 years. Yet the location of Punt is a mystery. Scholarly debate over the past century has resulted in five hypothetical regions: (1) Eritrea-Ethiopia; (2) the Sinai Peninsula; (3) Somalia; (4) western Uganda, and (5) Yemen. The collaboration will test among these competing geographic hypotheses by measuring ratios of carbon, nitrogen, and oxygen stable isotopes in the hair and bone tissues of mummified baboons, which were likely imported from Punt. The distinctive combination of these values is expected to match those of a modern baboon population inhabiting one of the five hypothetical locations above. This cross-disciplinary project represents a unique bridge between Geology (Geochemistry) and three sub-disciplines in Anthropology (Archaeology, Egyptology, and Primatology). The results are expected to complement and inform ongoing debates concerned with Egyptian history and foreign trade.

The broader impact of this project lies in its geographic scope and the integration of new and emergent technologies to address a central question in human history. Empirically, the PIs expect to identify the location of Punt. Theoretically, the research will advance our understanding of how human commerce and foreign policy evolved. Practically, the PI intends to enhance the education and laboratory training of 2 graduate students. The project will also permit greater intellectual exchange across academic disciplines and international borders.

I've been listening to Looking 4 The KLF and I'll be darned if it's not the catchiest song I've heard in a while. It's my friend Brooke's project and I'm so glad the fabulous Neil is singing as well. His voice *needs* to be heard!

Saw Brooke and Co. at Barfly for a fun night Saturday. Local band Bella Koshka is also impressive. Darkly cabaret, lovely, and sultry. Had a blast dancing with the Horses. Sadly, by the time C/A/T went on, the crowd thinned out. I enjoyed the show. I do think it should have been promoted a bit more.
I wore my dreads that [info]divaluxe made years ago and realized how fun they are to wear. I missed them. I was feeling all tribaly (?) from having seen and been moved by Avatar. People seem to really dig 'em.

Not much else to say. I've been enjoying putzing around my cozy, colorful house this winter. I love my cheesy fake fireplace, especially when Nigel sleeps in front of it. So cute! I guess it's official-I'm in winter nesting mode.

I wasn't thrilled to be seeing Avatar, but it was my friend's birthday and his choice of film. I saw it at the previously mentioned fancy-smancy theater in St. Louis Park. There's a very impressive bar there..just to my liking..mod meets Victorian (more mod...with just some magnified Victorian styled wallpaper aligning the bar) Nice, subdued red cube lights hanging from the high ceiling. I ordered a Long Island Ice tea. $8.25 (not including tip) Geez. The staff were extremely attentive and considerate and showed us to our seats.
Avatar....*sigh* I adored this film beyond my expectations. Very simple plot (basically bad military vs. good indigenous beautiful, nature-loving aliens) Obviously more to the story. There was a love interest. We saw it in 3D. It was honestly, a marvel to behold. The alien planet was beautiful beyond my imaginary LSD trips. Heh. There were bio-luminescent plants and creatures and waterfalls. I could feel every bit of love that was put into this film. Of course I cried my eyes out during the entire second half of the film.(But then again, I do that during watching sitcoms such as Scrubs) Only me and my friend clapped wildly as the films credits rolled. Why was no one else clapping??? I just couldn't contain my enthusiasm. I'm used to clapping for films in theaters in L.A., but then again, most the audience there knew some of the people that worked on the film. Regardless, clapping was in order. This film was jaw-dropping marvelously gorgeous and intense.
Really, the most impressive, beautiful film I've seen. Cliche, but I can look beyond that. The aliens were magnificent and beautiful. They had dreadlocks and feathers Makes me want to dress all tribal and participate in a huge group hug.
(There's a bit of a hippie that resides in my subconcious..no matter how much I try to make it go away)
